Pakistani players received lucrative contracts to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), a private news channel reported on Thursday. During the auction, Pakistani players Shahid Afridi and Imran Nazir were included in the golden category which led to them receiving some of the highest paid contracts. Imran Nazir received a $280,000 contract from the Chittagong Kings while Shahid Afridi received a $275,000 contract from the Dhaka Gladiators.

Former Pakistani cricketer Azhar Mehmood was given a $206,000 contract and will represent the Barisal Burners who also offered a $101,500 contract to Saeed Ajmal. Shoaib Malik was given a $85,000 contract from the Khulna Royal Bengals. Bangladeshi star all-rounder Shakib ul Hasan received the highest contract of $365,000 to play for the Dhaka Gladiators. The Sylhet Royals selected Bangladeshi captain Mushfiqur Rahim by offering him a $280,000 contract.
